About Jim Seyler

Born and raised in Eustis Florida.

I began in the jewelry business in 1980.  My first job was at Garner Jewelers, while attending Lake Sumter Community College. I then attended Stewarts International School of Jewelers and completed the jeweler repair program, advanced jewelry repair and advanced diamond setting.

 After leaving Garner Jewelers,

I went in business with a fellow jeweler and opened a trade shop doing work for area jewelers.  While working with area jewelry stores, one of which was Kay jewelers, I met a gentleman who operated a remount team of bench jewelers and salesmen. This job consisted of traveling to individual Kay stores and doing remount work at the stores for one day. While you waited I would take your old ring and reset it into a new mounting. We carried a large inventory of blank mountings with us {the salesman and I} as we traveled from mall to mall.

Approximately 50 different stores east of the Mississippi,

I set up a portable jewelers bench and let the customers watch me work on their piece. After two years of doing remounts and working in the trade shop I went to work privately for Ocala Coin Shop running their jewelry operation. Then in 1986 I opened Jim"s Gold Mine in Apopka, Florida with the help of my uncle and my father. The rest is history!

In 1988 I obtained my credentials from the Gemological Institute of America for diamond grading and colored stone grading .

So from trade shop to corporate run stores,

I have covered almost every angle of the industry and still happily serving Apopka Florida and surrounding area with jewelry sales, repairs and loans at Jim's Gold Mine, Inc. Stop by and visit us today!
